Color sorters are machines used on the production lines in bulk food processing and other industries.
They separate items by their colors, detecting the colors of product that pass before them, and use mechanical or pneumatic ejection devices to divert items whose colors do not fall within the acceptable range or which are desired to form a separate group from the rest.
Sorters can be divided into chute-type and belt-type color sorters.
Macadamia, almonds and seeds can all be sorted by both sorters.
Just keep the following in mind:
In the chute type, material is gravity fed thru a chute, causing collision, friction, and larger vertical movements, thus worsening the ratio of broken material.
Chute-type color sorters are commonly used for food, as prices are lower, capacities are higher, and products can be seen more easily from both sides, which is important when a dehulled grain has hull only on one side. Chute sorters are usually applicable to specific products, as the chute is designed with special channels for this kind of material based on sizes and shapes of the material.
Disadvantages of Chute-type color sorter that it does not protect fragile materials, and sticky materials cannot be sorted as well as any large materials
Chute-type color sorters are more cost-effective than a belt-type color sorters.
Belt-type sorters is a kind of optical sorting machine, which uses the photosensitive sensor to identify the color of materials, and then uses the high-precision ejector to sort them. The whole process is automatically completed by computer program control, which has high accuracy, good stability, and fast speed. It is widely used in food, medicine, chemical industry and other industries.
Belt-type color sorters break a smaller percentage of the material (important for nuts), and the product stays relatively static during the transport process as it moves horizontally on the belt. The belt structure makes the transmission smooth and stable without bouncing of material. Basically works softer with product.
Capacity
The capacity of different materials is different, and the output is also determined according to the weight of the nuts(material) itself. The capacity of one channel(chute) of macadamia nuts is 700 – 1000 kg/hour per chute.
The higher the impurity contact, the smaller the capacity.
*Capacity of machines may vary due to variety, quality, moisture content, feeding option used to inlet nuts, debris processed with nuts and style of nuts cracked/processed.
*Pre-Check and clean all machinery and conveyors before use and at regular intervals and ensure regular maintenance.
*No machines are guaranteed if foreign particles are processed with the nuts i.e., stones, sticks, bolts, nuts etc. (It remains the customers responsibility to make sure the nuts are clean)
